4th of July Local Fun

Here's what we found for the activities in and around RVA! Be safe and have fun! 
Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden
Free admission all day 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.!
Celebrate the CarMax Free Fourth of July by enjoying the gardens, Nature Connects®: Art with LEGO® Bricks and Butterflies LIVE!  Wear red, white and blue & bring your wagons and strollers to decorate for a parade in the Children’s Garden. Children can also cool off in WaterPlay.
1 – 4 p.m.: Live music by the Happy Lucky Combo in the Children’s Garden
2 p.m.: Parade around the Children’s Garden
Food is available for purchase in the Garden Cafe and in the Tea House.
Please note: The line to see Butterflies Live! will close at 4 p.m. so that we may get guests through the exhibit by our 5 p.m. closing time
 Red, White, and Lights
A Henrico County 4th of July Celebration has taken place annually since 1981, but this year’s event will offer a later start time, expanded hours, and features new entertainment. The free event begins at 4:30 p.m. and will feature the Richmond Symphony, a laser light show, patriotic performances, and family activities. Food trucks will be onsite to provide an evening meal or snack while guests enjoy the evenings performances.
Colonial Heights Fireworks
The City of Colonial Heights will sponsor a fireworks display on Saturday, July 4, 2015 in the vicinity of Charles Dimmock Parkway in Colonial Heights.  Fireworks will start at approximately 9:15 pm. Viewing for the fireworks will be off Interstate 95, Exit 53 or 54 in the Southgate Square/Wal-Mart Area. Bring blankets and/or lawn chairs.  Rain Date: Sunday, July 5, 2015  For more information, please contact the Colonial Heights Recreation & Parks Department at (804) 520-9390.  The event is free.
1st Annual Innsbrook Taste of Virginia
The Innsbrook Foundation and Innsbrook Rotary are teaming up to put on one of the greatest culinary events in Richmond and closing the night with fireworks.  Celebrating all things Virginia, Innsbrook Taste of Virginia is a food festival showcasing delicious dishes from local restaurants, each competing for the honorary “Taste of Virginia” title, as well as awards for other significant categories. Proceeds help support TOVA charity partner, FeedMore.
Date: Saturday, July 2nd (Rain Date: Sunday, July 3rd)
Time: 3:30pm-9:30pm
– Tasting Competition, 5pm-7pm
– Full menu items AND tastings available 3:30pm-9:30pm
– All restaurants have been given a minimum amount of tastings to provide.  Tastings are available as early as 3:30pm and will continue until the restaurants run out.
  
Goochland County Fireworks
Bring the whole family and enjoy a night under the stars with the community’s favorite event of the year on Monday. Park & watch the fireworks from Goochland County Administration Building, Goochland Elementary, Middle & High School Complex. Leave the alcohol at home, as it is prohibited at this event.

Military who qualify for the free admission ticket include but are not limited to active military, retired military, and veterans with honorable or medical discharge. Either a DD 214 or government issued ID will be accepted.
Busch Gardens
You can see huge colorful fireworks light up the sky each night, July 2-4. This event inspires park-goers through fireworks and moving original soundscapes.Busch Gardens celebrates our independence, July 2 – 4. Dogwood Dell Fourth of July Celebration
Celebrate the fourth of July with music and fireworks at Dogwood Dell. Enjoy a free family Fourth of July celebration at Dogwood Dell with  Carillon bells and Richmond Concert Band. Come a bit early to get a seat within the Dell, bring the family and friends, and of course your picnic supper. The concert begins at 7:30pm, just after the Carillon concert.
  
Flying Squirrels Independence Day Fireworks Extravaganza
July 4th at The Diamond is a Richmond tradition and this year we celebrate with the biggest and best fireworks show around. PLEASE NOTE: NOT A BARK IN THE BARK MONDAY. Gates open at 4:30
Smith Mountain Lake Fireworks Display
The Saunders Volunteer Fire Company will present our annual Smith Mountain Lake Fireworks Display at Parkway Marina July 3rd, 2016. This spectacular fireworks presentation is preceded by a fun-filled day of activities including live music and food. And we’d like you to be part of it!  Since 1991, Parkway Marina has been the sight of one of the lake’s most anticipated events: A Spectacular Independence Day Fireworks Display! This event was once sponsored and staffed entirely by Parkway Marina in appreciation of customers, friends and neighbors.  Live Music By The Worx; Antique and Custom Car Show; Rides for the kids including The Parkway Marina Carousel; Moneta YMCA Kids Zone; Great Food and Beverages and Spectacular Fireworks!  The Worx goes on stage at 5:30 PM.  Fireworks launch at 10:00 PM.  There is no admission fee, Parking is $10 per car load*

Fourth of July Celebration at Colonial Williamsburg
Celebrate the anniversary of the nation’s birth in the Revolutionary City! Join Colonial Williamsburg for a special militia muster. Enjoy a salute to the 13 original states, featuring music performed by the Fifes and Drums, flags of each state, the firing of muskets and cannon. The day concludes with fireworks visible from both Market Square and Palace Green.  The event is from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Independence Day Reenactment
The event is FREE, with a suggested donation of $5.00 per person. In celebration of America’s birthday, the Declaration of Independence will be read.  11:00 a.m. Doors open, seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.  11:15 a.m. Patriotic music begins.  11:30 a.m. Reenactment begins (no admittance after program begins or when church is at capacity.  Reserved seats may be purchased for $5 per person here at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2494521
July 4th Celebration in Ashland
Old-fashioned Fourth of July Fun!  Join us for this yearly old-fashioned July 4th parade & celebration! Parade begins at 11:00AM followed by a patriotic concert with Hanover Concert Band, food, games, Patriotic Pet Contest, Apple Pie Contest winners and more!

Multiple live performances on oceanfront stages will attract thousands of visitors and residents of Virginia Beach to a “star-spangled” salute to this great country of ours at Stars & Stripes Explosion on Monday, July 4, 2016. 
Scheduled entertainment offers something for everyone: patriotic and classical to a Motown tribute, a cover band playing all your favorites, and naturally, fireworks!
