How are you doing with your Summer Bucket List?

left image

Where do you fall in the "I'm ready for school" campaign? I may not be popular with my answer but I am in the NO- NOT SCHOOL category. I have no interest in the get up, make lunch and start carpooling schedule. I LOVE this time of lazy mornings and memory building times. Of course I know the importance of routines and when the time comes, we will be ready, but I want to slow these last few weeks down. I'd love to hear your input- please share your comments here.

Our summer bucket list has had some great success these past few weeks. We made it to the OBX for the first time, what a beautiful place to be! I am already counting the minutes until I can return. I finished a book, started another and I am working on 5 more to cross of this week- how about you? Check out the article below on the 90 day get fit challenge !

Have you checked out our Business Directory?
This week we welcome Kalico Kitchen and Kitchen Thyme.
We are so excited to keep adding more and more local businesses to our Directory.  All are family friendly and Macaroni Kid approved!  Just click on the Biz Directory tab at the top of the website or click HERE to find just what you are looking for! This is your one stop shop to find all things local and hopefully make your lives a little easier.

If you have a family-friendly business and would like to be listed in our directory, please email Kristen Smith at [email protected]

Check out my latest board on Pinterest  but be warned, you may end up spending too much time on this site!

Wishing you a wonderful week and as always, we are working hard to keep our calendar full of fun events and activities to keep your families entertained. We are constantly adding new events everyday, so check our Macaroni Kid Family Calendar and check it often!

I checked off something on my bucket list this past weekend. My husband & I took our grandchildren to Tweetsie Railroad in Boone NC , my grandparents took myself and my siblings when we were young, and we took our children when they were young. It was a lot of fun, everyone had a great time. thanks

We went to Virginia Safari Park. An awesome place to spend the day. Not expensive for an all day adventure. All the focus is on the presentation of the animals, very small gift shop - rest rooms not connected to the gift shop so you can avoid it all together. No sidewalk carts to distract your attention from the animals - that I commend them. The kids feed the animal while I took pictures. Laughed until our sides hurt!

I'm very excited about something that I am going to check off not only my summer bucket list, but my lifetime bucket list: swimming with the dolphins! Woo hoo! I have to wait until September, though. We homeschool, so we're taking advantage of that schedule and going to Florida off peak.

Each week, the boys pick one thing each from our bucket list jar and we add them into our upcoming week....so far, it's been Watercountry, Movie day, Maymont, Making sidewalk chalk and homemade bubbles, Panera for Breakfast, Ice cream for lunch, baking parties, CMoR, Sweet Spot, Dinner at the Pool and soon to be a beach weekend! We have so many more to go thru....summer can't end! I'm not ready either!

This summer we transformed an unfinished bedroom from bare walls and subflooring into a nursery for our new baby girl coming any day now! Her 5 year old big brother even put most of the crib together!
