Birthday Week At Our Home!

Yesterday was Marky's 10th birthday . This was a real milestone for us, he is our baby and he is now in double digits. In our world, he is younger than 10. He needs us in ways that most typical 10 year olds don't - and that is ok. We love it and we hold it all dear to our heart. Here is a poem I wrote for him that I wanted to share with you.
HAPPY 10TH BIRTHDAY TO OUR PRINCE
WE LOVE YOU MORE THAN YOU WILL EVER KNOW
YOU MAY NOT UNDERSTAND IT ALL , BUT OH IT WILL SHOW
YOU ARE SO SWEET , KIND AND FUNNY ALL IN ONE
OUR GIFT, OUR PRIZE, OUR INCREDIBLE SON
SOME DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW HARD SMALL TASKS MAY BE FOR YOU
WE PROMISE TO HELP AND GUIDE IN ALL THAT YOU DO
WE WILL BE YOUR VOICE FOR AS LONG AS YOU NEED
IT IS OUR HOPE THAT ONE DAY YOU WILL ON YOUR OWN- SUCCEED
YOU TEACH US EVERY DAY , YOU ARE SO BRIGHT
DON'T WORRY ABOUT THOSE THAT STARE- THEY TOO, WILL SEE THE LIGHT

I hope you enjoy it, learn from it and it helps you in some way. Marky helps us every day! PLEASE read our Special Needs piece this week, a guest blogger has written what I consider such a true testimonial to so many of our lives.
It will also be our oldest daughters 19th birthday this coming week. She was my first baby, and let me tell you, no book of parenting could have prepared me for the journey we have been on. Ashley brings energy, spunk and a zest for life in all she does. When this one sets her mind to something, there is NO stopping her. It is amazing I have yet to die my hair!
I am proud of all 3 of my babies, they are all so different and teach me so much. To all of you wonderful readers- take the time to enjoy it all- time goes by very quickly!
I created memory milestones last weekend on an overnight adventure to see JBeibs in NC ( yes, I know the cool lingo) . Let me tell you, that boy can put on a show and I was not a fan before! The overnight getaway with Sophia and her girlfriend was awesome, but the mommy bonding me and my friend had was priceless! I can't wait to plan the next one!
This week, we have Yo Gabba Gabba Giveaways, Christian Youth Theatre tickets, Swan Lake performed by Richmond Ballet as well as more Ringling ticket giveaways. There are also some great articles and I have created a new Pinterest board for Groundhog day- check it out! Pinterest Groundhog board
I hope you can join us for The University Of Richmond's Spiders Game on Feb 2. Macaroni Kid will be hosting ! See the article for all info .
I am excited to be attending the Richmond Kids Expo again this year, save the date, it will be a great day! February 23, 2013.
