Tell us a little about both of your lives  and your life before Bricks 4 kidz -

1.Robin-I am the third generation born and raised right here in Richmond, so I am so fortunate to have a lot of extended family and support system in town. I have been married to my husband (also a native Richmonder) for almost 24 years and we have two young adult children that are my pride and joy! I have been in business with my sister, first as owners of Babystuff and Kids 2, and currently of Bricks 4 Kidz, where we get to play with LEGO bricks all day long!

Michelle- I am married to a wonderful husband David. We have three girls, ages 16, 15 and 12.

What is it like being in business with your sister?

2.Robin-There is nothing better than being in business with my sister.  Not only do we always know what the other is thinking, we have the same values and work ethic.  Best of all, I get to see and work with my best friend every day!

Michelle- Being in business with my sister is like being in business with your best friend. When we tell people we are sisters they are shocked and always say wow, I don't think I could do thator say how lucky we are. And we do feel lucky. We know each others strengths and weaknesses so it works out great.

What is your favorite thing to do with your kids? without?

3.Robin- With kids - Travel..Without kids..Travel (can you tell I love to travel??)

Michelle- with kids- getting pedicures, without-  going out with my friends

Michelle- Jam Cruise

What is something you are especially proud of?

7. Robin & Michelle-Starting and owning a childrens gift store, Babystuff and Kids 2, for 18 years and then successfully selling it to the current owners.

Tell us a few of the great things you have heard  from families that have kids enrolled in one of your programs?

8. During the Amusement Park Bricks for Kidz camp we had a camp counselor who helped my son Daniel re-gain his self confidence and positive spirit through her warm, caring, and fun approach to teaching.  The class was also well organized and well structured.  Thank you to Bricks 4 Kidz for helping Daniel feel more confident. The teacher helped him gain many lifelong skills that will benefit him which is truly the best gift any teacher can give to a student.

Gavin is SO excited to take some of your great camps! We love you guys!!

What are some of the things you like to do in your free time?

9. Robin- Free time - whats that?????  Seriously, I love to do yoga and explore different areas of Richmond on long walks/hikes.  I grew up here and did not know there were so many beautiful trails around our city.

Michelle- I love to read and hang out with my family.

What skills do you find you need to juggle working a full time job and managing your family.

10. Robin- Working from home its hard to turn offwork.  I always feel the need to answer emails/phone calls at all hours of the day and night.  I try to  make it a point to put all work away when my husband and kids are home, but that doesnt seem to always work…….

Michelle- Time management and organization prioritizing.

How do you “de stress” ?
