The event, which will open Nov. 14 and run through Jan. 3, 2015, at the Caroline County venue, will feature many special events during its seven-week run.

Military Appreciation Night will take place on Nov. 16. All active-duty service members and retirees with current military ID will receive complimentary admission to Illuminate Light Show & Santa’s Village during the first Sunday of the event. Vehicle tickets include admission to the light show and Santa’s Village; some events and activities may have an additional charge.

Illuminate Light Show & Santa's Village is proud to partner with Summit Media and FeedMore, Central Virginia’s regional food bank, to give a gift to the hungry this holiday season, and with Star Radio Group and Toys for Tots to brighten the holiday season for area children. Guests that bring five or more nonperishable food items on Mondays and Tuesdays, Nov. 17 through Dec. 9, or a new, unwrapped toy on Wednesdays, Nov. 19 through Dec. 10, will receive $5 off gate admission after making their donation at the light show entrance.
Furry friends are welcome to join the fun during Paws and Claus, Nov. 25 and Dec. 9. For two nights only, dogs are welcome to ride around the light show and afterward have their photos taken with St. Nick himself in Santa’s Village. Local humane societies also will be on site during Paws and Claus, so come out and visit with them! All pets must be on a leash or in a carrier at all times. Pets are allowed only during Paws and Claus, so take advantage and bring Fido out for fun on these special nights!
Other special events also will take place in Santa’s Village which will be open Nov. 14 through Dec. 24.
Experience products from some of Virginia’s best wineries and craft breweries from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on four Thursdays evenings—Nov. 20 and 27 and Dec. 4 and 11. Tastings will be offered, and guests also can purchase a glass to enjoy while visiting Santa’s Village or take home a favorite bottle to share.

Christmas Wagon Rides will take place on Fridays through Sundays during Santa’s Village’s operational dates, with extended days of operation after Dec. 12. Take a short moon-lit ride around the grounds of The Meadow Event Park in a horse-drawn Christmas Wagon provided by Olde Towne Carriages of Fredericksburg. Rides are $5 per person. 
The Christmas Tree Lot will be located next to Santa’s Village and features Virginia-grown Fraser fir and fresh, aromatic wreaths. The tree lot will be open Nov. 28 through Dec. 24.
And don’t forget to join Illuminate Light Show & Santa’s Village for Santa’s Spectacular Sendoff on Dec. 23. Say farewell to the man in the red suit as he departs for the North Pole to prepare for his big journey. Santa will perform a show for the children as part of his sendoff, and children will receive reindeer food to put out for Santa’s reindeer on Christmas Eve.
