A little diddy'

and some more news!

February 25, 2011

I am still riding on a cloud from my night ! I was lucky enough to go to see John Mellencamp at the Landmark Theater last night and I have to say, initially I was going to support my husband in his love of JM, by the end of the night I was the newest groupie to the Mellen"camp"!

I was blown away by the depth and beauty of the stories he told in his songs. He shared memories of growing up with his grandma and wrote a song titled" Save Some Time to Dream" , inspired by his dad after being reminded that life was short and he better have some fun for himself. One of the lines in the song says "Save time to dream, cause you're dream might save us all". I loved that !

He played some of his classics, like Jack & Diane and Pink Houses,  the audience went wild . He had such energy, such a passion for what he was doing and appeared so grateful to his fans at the end of the show! He has been playing for 35 years and although his new songs touch on life, getting older and facing the feats that come with it, you would never know it from the enthusiasm he had dancing for over 2 hours! I will be downloading his newest album this week! "Oh Yea, Life Goes On......."

In other news, PLEASE come visit me tomorrow at the KIDS EXPO! it is going to be a blast, there is so much to do for your kids , entertainment, giveaways, food and so much more! Please come look for the Macaroni Kid Table and say hi! I will have some fun stuff for the kids too! Some of our great advertisers will also be there, so show your support and say hi too ! Toyconomy, KidsDineFree, Sweetly Smitten and for those that couldn't make it , my table will have some goodies from Willow House, Romp n' Roll and Tutor Doctor.

There is some great stuff this week, beneath the events, so don't forget to take a peek! Dr. Seuss Crafts and more! I also welcome Ms Wright to the Special Kids Special Needs Piece , she is an educator and mom in the Henrico School system and wrote a great article ! I am so proud of our oldest daughter Ashley, for the piece she wrote for me on how the passing of her friend has affected her. Please take the time to read it and I would love to hear what you have to say!

I wish you all a wonderful weekend, there is so much to do!

Until Next Time,

Carissa
