SAT/ACT Test Prep Coaching

Since 2004, Leslie Baker has been an educational resource in the Richmond community providing test prep coaching for high school/college entrance tests as well as helping students with college essays and applications  She has also served as a connection between students looking for academic support and local area tutors.

Leslie earned her BA in History/Secondary Education and her Master’s in Education at the University of South Carolina.  She began her teaching career at her hometown high school in South Carolina.  After marrying her husband, Dan, and moving to Virginia, she taught multiple grade levels for Henrico County.  While teaching in Henrico, Leslie enrolled in Virginia Commonwealth University and earned Continuing Doctoral Status towards her doctorate in education. Leslie is a mom of three and enjoys spending free time with her family at the lake, beach, or on travel adventures. She also enjoys exercising and gardening.  One of her dreams after raising her family is to return to VCU to complete the remainder of her educational doctoral program.

Leslie is very dedicated to her students’ success and her mission is to guide them in a way that boosts their confidence and expands their thinking so they reach their full potential.

Ms Baker offers:

SAT/ACT Test Prep Coaching

$80 per session

4-6 sessions recommended prior to test date

*One hour sessions designed to introduce test taking strategies for the SAT or ACT

*Implementation of strategies through guided and independent practice

*Individualized instruction and content review bases upon the specific needs of the student determined by analysis of previous testing data (PSAT, SAT, or ACT scores)

*Official Guides Workbook and strategy guide are included with cost


College Application/ Essay Assistance

$80 per session

or

$395 "Get It Done" Summer session

Number of sessions varies with individual needs *Individual or Group sessions available 

(group sessions "Get It Done" workshops available during the summer prior to Senior year)

*Introduction to Common and Coalition Application platforms

*Assistance choosing application platform and settling up student profiles

*Guidance with brainstorming and writing college essays

*Organization of checklist for application deadlines, teacher recommendations, and other important information
