Mechanicsville, VA – August 5, 2025 – A new children's art studio, Atlee Art Loft, is opening its doors in Mechanicsville this weekend with a mission to ignite creativity and offer a screen-free, welcoming space for kids to explore the visual arts.
Founded by VCUArts Junior, Ella Gormley, and Sarah Faria, an art-loving mom of four, the Atlee Art Loft provides evening and weekend art classes for K–8 students, covering everything from painting and mixed media to sculpture and open studio time. Located upstairs at 9406 Charter Crossing near the Kings Charter clubhouse in Mechanicsville, the studio is designed to be walkable for local families and a safe haven for budding artists to let their imaginations shine.
"We wanted to create something that felt like home – a place kids can ride their bikes to, get messy, and feel proud of what they create," said co-founder Sarah Faria.
Ella Gormley, the studio’s lead instructor and curriculum designer adds: “Art has always been a joyful escape for me. I want every child who walks into our studio to feel seen, inspired, and excited to create in their own unique way.”
The Grand Opening on August 9 from 10:00am to 2:00pm will feature hands-on art stations, giveaways, class registration specials, and an opportunity to meet the team behind the studio.
