February 2, 2026

*This is a sponsored event by Macaroni KID Richmond, Macaroni KID Chesterfield Chester, Dyscalculia Mentor & The Tutoring Hub.

Let’s be honest: parenting is a wild ride, and when you’re navigating the world of "unique needs," it can sometimes feel like you’re driving without a GPS. Maybe you’re managing learning differences, hitting developmental milestones, or just trying to figure out how to best advocate for your child in school. No matter the challenge, you don’t have to do it alone.

We're so excited to invite you to a special event just for you as a reminder that you’ve got a village behind you.

Speaking Up for Our Kids: Real Talk for Parents of Children with Unique Needs

Join us in person for an honest conversation about kiddos with unique needs! This event is all about sharing stories, swapping advice, and supporting each other as we navigate this special journey together. Parents, caregivers, and the curious are all welcome! Come connect, learn, and speak up for the amazing kids who inspire us every day.

Meet Your Guides

To start off our series, we've partnered with a couple of local experts who are passionate about supporting our Metro Richmond families:

  • Robert Regan: Known as the Dyscalculia Mentor, Robert specializes in helping families navigate the often-misunderstood world of math-related learning disabilities. He brings a wealth of knowledge and a ton of empathy to the table.
  • Lauren Isaacson: Representing The Tutoring Hub, Lauren is a dedicated Special Education Advocate. She is a powerhouse when it comes to understanding your child's rights and ensuring they get the support they deserve at school.

What to Expect

We will host a Q & A panel about the following topics:

  • IEP and 504 Process (Setting reasonable accommodations, how to prepare for school meetings)
  • Learning Disabilities (What to look for, diagnosis process)

You'll leave this conversation feeling encouraged and equipped to advocate with the tools and resources to help your child thrive academically.

Let’s grab a coffee or some tea, share some real talk, and together we can speak from the heart at Speaking Up for Our Kids: Real Talk for Parents of Children with Unique Needs. You might be right at the start of your journey or perhaps you've been "speaking up" for years. Either way, we’d love to see you there.
