Henrico’s Annual Earth Day Celebration returns to Deep Run Park on April 11 from 12 pm to 3 pm, and this year’s lineup is packed with activities that make it easy for kids and grownups to connect with nature in joyful, meaningful ways.

Hosted by Recreation and Parks, Keep Henrico Beautiful, and H.E.A.R.T., this celebration brings together music, hands‑on learning, local talent, and plenty of opportunities for families to discover how small actions can make a big difference for our planet.

What to Expect


Event Field (Cricket Field at the Back of the Park)

Fashion Show by Moody Middle School - Cheer on local students as they take the stage with creative, eco‑inspired looks.

Local Vendors - Explore goods and resources from community partners who support sustainability.

Electric Bike Demos by Blue Ridge Cyclery - Kids and adults can see how e‑bikes work and learn about greener ways to get around.

Flavor Fusion Lemonades - Fresh‑squeezed and delicious, available for purchase.


Activity Field (Near the Pond)

Live Music from Lauren Booth - Enjoy a relaxing soundtrack while you wander the park.

Kayaking with RVA Paddlesports - Paddle in the Park is back for its fourth year. First‑timers are welcome and instructors will be ready to help kids and adults feel confident on the water. Reserve your spot and complete the waiver online.

Sensory Area - Hosted by Henrico Therapeutic Recreation staff and Jacob’s Chance, this space offers calming, inclusive activities for kids of all abilities.

Craft & Demo Station - Henrico Cooperative Extension will guide families through hands‑on projects that teach simple ways to care for the environment.

Tree Tours - Join the Henrico Parks Arborist at 12:30 pm, 1:30 pm, or 2:30 pm for a family‑friendly walk that brings local trees to life through stories and science.

Goatocado Food Truck - Fresh, flavorful meals available for purchase.


Recreation Center (Parking Lot)

Paint Out Pollution - Hosted by HEART and the James River Association, families can help paint storm drains using stencils of native animals and bright colors. Kids love this activity, and it’s a great way to spark conversations about how our waterways stay clean. You can sign up ahead of time or during the event.
