This June, families across Virginia can enjoy that magic without needing a fishing license thanks to Virginia’s Free Fishing Days, an annual initiative from the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources. During Virginia’s Free Fishing Days, anyone can try recreational rod‑and‑reel fishing with no license required. It’s the perfect opportunity to introduce kids to fishing, enjoy a relaxing afternoon with friends, or simply reconnect with nature.
Next week, Hanover County Parks and Recreation and the Town of Ashland are joining in on the fun by hosting a FREE community fishing event that welcomes anglers of all ages and experience levels.
