Spring has sprung! Temperatures are rising, flowers are blooming, and volcanoes are erupting… at least at Kings Dominion. The park is now open for its spring hours, and has some big plans for the season.
Kings Dominion will be celebrating food, family and fun at the third annual Spring Bloom Festival. On Saturdays and Sundays between April 16 and May 15, Italy, Ireland, Switzerland, and Germany will converge under the Eiffel Tower as Chef Paul Maloney takes guests on a culinary adventure around the world. Chef Paul has carefully designed these internationally inspired dishes using fresh, local ingredients. If the food isn’t enough to draw you in, there will also be drink pairings from several local breweries. If you can manage to make a choice between the awesome dishes, make sure to get a seat near the Spring Bloom Stage to enjoy some toe-tapping music from several live bands.
Be sure to schedule a visit for May 14 to catch Sabrina Carpenter live in concert! This multitalented singer/songwriter will perform hits off her debut album “Eyes Wide Open.” The concert is free with park admission, and will be held in the Kingswood Amphitheater. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis, so you’ll want to get there early!
Swing by the Kids Garden in Planet Snoopy for some family-friendly activities! You and your children can try your hand at woodworking at the Lowes Build and Grow Workshop, or decorate your own flower pot! Kids can also get up close and personal with some baby animals at the petting zoo.
The Kids Garden isn’t the only great part of Planet Snoopy though. There are 18 kid-friendly rides just waiting for you and your family. Keep an eye out for your chance to meet Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the rest of the Peanuts Gang! If it all gets to be a bit too much for the little ones, make a stop at the Family Care Center. Here you can relax in the AC, or put the little ones down for a quick nap. There is also a room for parents to feed their children and a microwave to warm up bottles.
