Happy Birthday To You Marky
Next week Marky turns 14. I have so many mixed feelings. It is the first year I am not having a birthday party for him. I realized that the parties I plan, really are not things he asks for. I also realized it is rare that he is invited to parties and he would be as happy doing something with us. Actually, he would be happy with anything or nothing.
The question for me becomes, what is "right"? I have no real answer, so decided to just try something different. It is a blessing and a curse that he is so flexible. I will be sharing more on these feelings as I am able to articulate them.
For now, we will celebrate all he is and share a poem for Marky.
We love you so big, bigger than the sky
You are the kindest soul, and unable to lie
You are so sweet, so funny , so kind and pure
You bring joy to all every day, that is for sure
Many don't know how hard things may be for you
We will try to guide and protect in all that you do
We will work every day to be the voice you need
With the hope that one day, on your own, you will succeed
You teach without trying, what life is really about
The lessons last a lifetime, there is no doubt
With your smile and your joy, you help us see the light
With your heart and your laugh, you make our day bright
If all could live life as beautifully as you
The world would be a better place, this for sure is true.
