The great thing about a family membership is that while you are staying active, your kids will be too! Our Kid Zone(KZ) has really great activities going on around the clock designed to keep the kids moving, their minds engaged and having fun. Let’s break it down by age groups, and while the activities here are for the Short Pump location, every American Family has a KZ and all of the schedules can be found online at www.amfamfit.com.
The KZ ages range from 6 weeks old to 9 years old. Once your child is 9 they have the option to workout with you in certain family friendly classes, on any non-motorized machine (pretty much everything except treadmills and stepmills) with your supervision, or they can be signed into Jr. Activities. Today we will focus on ages 6 weeks – 8 years old. All of our staff is CPR/AED certified with KZ staff having additional child and infant CPR certifications. So rest assured, they are in good hands!
Let’s start with the little ones.
6 weeks – 1 year and walking
Your little guy or gal will enjoy their time rocking with staff, swaying in a jungle themed swings, having tummy time and enjoying the beautiful mermaid mural. We have a separate area for this age group for their safety and will work with you to figure out a schedule while you are in class.
Over 1 years old and walking – 5 years old
It’s Space Maze time! Our Space Maze is a fun (and giant) activity center that your kids can climb, slide and explore with their friends. The Space Maze room is also very large and where we hold the majority of our activity for this age group. Some of our favorite activites are: Rhythm Games, Story Time, Craft Time, Active Play and Kidzercise!
5 – 8 years old
The older kids always have lots of energy, so we want to keep them moving! The Sports Court is a room designed for basketballs, scooters, wall ball and hula hoops. The designated staff member will engage your kids in organized activities that will keep them going and engaged.
