Meet Sean M.
Sean came to our School of Rock Midlothian with no experience. He originally took guitar lessons but quickly realized he wanted to sing.
Sean graduated from High School in June and has moved up to our Grad School Program.
Q & A
How did you get started with music?
I was 10 years old and went to see KISS. This changed my life. I wanted to be them.
What has been your favorite performance with SOR?
In our HOUSE BAND RVA (Show Band),We played the Canal Club with other School of Rock bands from around the country. My personal best performance was singing "War Pigs" to a room full of music lovers. It was a great night. We were all tight and sounded great.

Favorite concert?
The Used 15th Anniversary Tour- It was a two night show and was the best live show I have ever seen.
What song would you love to sing?
Sound of Silence. It is a real stretch for me. Still working on it.

Plans & hopes for music in your future?
For now I have started working at SOR and am looking for a band to join. I would love to be able to make a living playing music.
Was it hard to manage school and music?
Not any more than any other outside activity. Music was my activity outside of school. It is my passion and I spent as much time as I could doing it.

Video games, write music...I am kind of a nerd

I just finished A Clockwork Orange. Its one of my favorites so far.

Any suggestions/advice for readers?
Just Sign up....hahaha..At the end of the day you have to follow what you love. No one can choose it for you. Music has been a life saver for me. I never thought I would be able to get on stage and sing in front of anyone. Now I know that I can keep fear from my decisions. S
School Of Rock has locations in Short Pump and Midlothian. Try a class, watch a class, attend a show! It is a great way to learn music, have fun and be a part of an amazing community.
