The Big Kitchen Makes Eating Together Easier

The Big Kitchen is focused on making life easier for families.  Founded by the owners of Tazza Kitchen, this new prepared meals business has been opened for just over 3 months and already has a strong following.    “We have been overwhelmed by the positive feedback and repeat customers with many regulars coming back week after week,”  said Co-Owner, Susan Davenport.  “We hear over and over that the food is delicious, easy to re-heat, and affordable. But I think what has set us apart is the service.  Parents are blown away that their order is ready and they do not have to get out of their cars.”

Each meal is prepared fresh daily from scratch by a team of chefs and then refrigerated for easy heating at home.  The Big Kitchen sources locally as much as possible including meats and goat cheese.  The majority of the packaging is compostable, and The Big Kitchen composts their own organic waste – over 2 tons monthly.

The menu rotates every few weeks and features entrees, salads, sides, wood-fired frozen pizzas, and smokehouse barbecue.   You will also find some of the Tazza favorites like meatballs and guacamole.

Located in a renovated diesel engine repair shop at 1600 Altamont Avenue in Scott’s Addition, The Big Kitchen features online ordering and payment. The renovated garage bay includes a small storefront, covered parking for pick up, and a large glass viewing window into the kitchen.  A second location will open in Short Pump next door to Tazza Kitchen in May, and delivery will launch by the end of April.   For more information or place an order visit thebigkitchen.com.
