Hello! I’m Natalie Russell, Owner of FIT4MOM Richmond. FIT4MOM is the nation’s leading prenatal and postnatal fitness program, providing fitness classes and a network of moms to support every stage of motherhood. From pregnancy, through postpartum and beyond, our fitness and wellness programs help make moms strong in body, mind, and spirit!
I’ve owned FIT4MOM Richmond for just over 3 years now. I’m actually the third owner here in Richmond and there are over 300 FIT4MOM franchises across the United States. It’s amazing to imagine just how many mothers and children have been connected through FIT4MOM. How many have found their “village” of support and friendship by joining one of our fitness programs? It’s pretty amazing!
At FIT4MOM Richmond we currently offer prenatal FIT4BABY classes, Stroller Strides, and Stroller Barre as well as Body Back. We also have regular playgroups and a monthly Moms Night Our or family event.
Here’s a little more information on each of our programs...
FIT4BABY - FIT4BABY classes exclusively focus on pregnant moms and the recently postpartum mom! Regular activity such as FIT4BABY® fitness classes can help to reduce many maternal aches and pains, increase energy during and after pregnancy and may speed the labor, delivery and recovery process. Pregnancy is the perfect time to commit to health, and exercise is an important component to well-being for pregnant women and new moms. You can begin FIT4BABY® at any point during pregnancy as the workouts are scientifically-based, purposeful and designed to accommodate your changing body. The 60-minute workout includes cardio, strength, balance, and flexibility training and ends with a relaxing meditation; everything you need during this precious time and into the fourth trimester.
Class are on Mondays at ACAC Short Pump at 5:30 pm and our newest location is St. Mary’s Hospital on Thursdays at 6 pm.
Stroller Strides -Stroller Strides is a total fitness program that moms can do with their babies in tow. It includes power walking and intervals of strength and body toning exercises using exercise tubing, the stroller, and the environment. Taught by certified and specially trained fitness instructors, it is a great workout for any level of exerciser. Stroller Strides instructors weave songs and activities into the routine designed to entertain and engage baby, while moms are led through a series of exercises specific to her role as mom.
Classes are Monday - Saturday at multiple locations around Richmond either at 9:30 am or 10 am depending on the location. Our Saturday classes are "Dadurdays". We encourage you to bring your other half with you to participate for free on your membership or guest pass (for first-time clients). We love moms (obviously!) but we sure do love our dads as well!
Stroller Barre - Stroller Barre is a unique blend of ballet, Pilates, barre, yoga and stroller-based exercises designed to help moms improve strength, muscle tone, and posture. Stroller Barre® focuses on strengthening and creating an ideal length/tension relationship in all the postural muscles, creating a taller, leaner-looking mommy! Created by a mom who was formerly a professional ballerina, this class incorporates prenatal and postnatal training and yields amazing results in an exciting, fun format for both moms and littles!
Classes are alternate Tuesdays (Maymont) and Fridays (Libbie Mill) at 9:30 am
Body Back - Experience High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) total-body workouts that challenge even the elite athlete. Our safe and effective workouts address the body of the postnatal woman, whether she had her baby six months ago or 20 years ago. We work closely with our clients to ensure each woman walks away from the class feeling successful and at HER strongest.
Classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 pm and Saturdays at 8 am at Libbie Mill for Body Back Membership holders. Early morning classes are to be announced soon!
** We encourage clients to complete at least one Body Back Transformation session before joining as a member but it is not required. Clients must be at least 4 months postpartum to participate in any Body Back classes/session.
Body Back Transformation - is a 60-minute, results-based workout designed to help you reach your full physical potential and reconnect to your inner strength. Our high- intensity interval training (HIIT) cycles through cardio, strength, and core work and concludes with a relaxing meditation to help you recharge and head back to your family. Improve your health, fitness, and physical strength while experiencing a personal transformation.
* 2 HITT (high-intensity interval training) workouts per week in a small group format* Supported food logging
* Before and after fitness assessments, photos, and measurements
* Setting and achieving personal goals
* Private Facebook group
* Recipe book and nutrition guide
* Weekly challenges & at-home workouts
* Personal one on one coaching

Classes are Wednesday nights at 7:30 pm and Saturday mornings at 8 am at Libbie Mill.

So there you have it! A full rundown of each of our program offerings. Your first class is FREE and you can come to try any of our classes at any time. We love welcoming new moms into our village (and we even have a few dog moms too!) My team of instructors are always happy to see new faces in class and are always available to lend a helping hand with a fussy baby at Strides or to help with modifications at Body Back. We’re a non-judging group of moms who are here to support you on this amazing journey through motherhood!
