5 Water Creeks in RVA for Kids to Splash In!

Check out these five spots where your kids can cool off

We are lucky to have so many great creeks in the Richmond region where kids can splash and play

Here are five in the area to visit.  if you don't see your family's favorite RVA creek here, Drop me a note at carissag@macaronikid.com, and it'll be added!

Put on a swimsuit, bring shoes good for creek walking, and don't forget snacks and sunscreen before heading out to any of these Richmond creeks! And remember, always watch your kids in water — no matter how shallow it is!





Powhite Creek

Powhite Creek is an 8.0-mile-long stream rising near the unincorporated community of Bon Air in Chesterfield County and flowing into the independent city of Richmond in central Virginia






Larus Park at Stony point 

I have not heard of this one, but it is referred to on site as a hidden gem! Streams ideal for toddlers too!





Creek at Forest Hill Park 

A partial wetland, much wildlife can be viewed in the park, and there are also sloping hills for passive recreation. 





Poor Farm Park 

This is in Ashland, biking and hiking trails and a large creek too!





Tuckahoe Creek Park 

0.6 mile  trail located near Henrico, Virginia that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for walking, nature trips, bird watching, and fishing and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
