The Richmond Ram Chargers, a new American Men's Professional Basketball Team owned by Hasaan Fountain, will play their first home game on November 2nd.
This team is part of the American Basketball Association (ABA), which was founded in 1999 by Joe Newman and the late Richard P. Tinkham. After being reformed in 2000, the ABA has operated in cooperation with the NBA for 21 years. After a three-year absence from Richmond, VA, the American Basketball Association (ABA) announced in October 2023 that the league will return to the city with the Richmond Ram Chargers in November 2024. The Richmond Elite were the last Richmond-based ABA team from 2011 to 2020. The ABA season runs from November through April (including playoffs).
Besides Fountain, Aaron Turner is the team's general manager; Timika Cousins is the team's director of community outreach; Pastor Chris Moore and Valerie Coley are the Spiritual Team; Chris Oliveras is the head coach and O'Dell Goodman is the assistant head coach.
