The last time I've been to the circus was around 1997 with my church choir. I don't remember much except that our seats were located at the top balcony at the old Richmond Coliseum and that I wasn't all that wowed. Therefore, I never attended another circus event until recently.
The Do Portugal Circus is currently performing in Richmond during their North America and international tour. This animal-free circus features aerialists, trapeze artists, dancers, magicians, and motorcyclists.
We had the opportunity to attend the circus with my teen and tweens. They never been to the circus; therefore, I wanted to take them so that they can cross it off their bucket list. We had very decent seats and we were able to see all of the acts very well.
This performance was electrifying from start to finish! All four of us were completely mesmerized with the acrobats. My daughter and I love the glow in the dark hula hoop dance. My daughter also loved the dancing and the trapeze artist. My sons loved the motorcycles and clown segments.
The Do Portugal Circus takes place outside The Diamond each day until March 17th, with multiple performances during the weekend. Tickets are $30 for anyone 13+ and $20 for kids 2 to 12. You can also purchase VIP Seating for $60 per person.
